Graduate Programs in Clinical Ultrasound
Theses courses are designed to provide the knowledge-base necessary for diagnostic-level performance of echocardiography and interpretation; surface ultrasound uses such as ultrasound guided procedures and nerve blocks; and other medical specialist specific ultrasound applications such as vascular ultrasound examination.
The aim is to provide advanced knowledge to specialist craft groups to facilitate use of ultrasound relevant to their specialty.
Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs administer this course in partnership with the Department of Pharmacology, University of Melbourne.
Courses Available
The University of Melbourne has developed a three stage program of courses to cater for the level of knowledge base and craft group requirements, beginning with the Postgraduate Certificate of Clinical Ultrasound.
The Postgraduate Certificate of Clinical Ultrasound will provide you with a solid working knowledge-base for transthoracic echocardiography as well as surface ultrasound uses such as vessel access, nerve blocks and trauma ultrasound.
PC-CU Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound (50 points)
At completion, you can choose to exit at this stage or complete a further 4 subjects to obtain the Postgraduate Diploma of Clinical Ultrasound.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound will provide you with diagnostic level knowledge base. Students must firstly complete the Postgraduate Certificate of Clinical Ultrasound before articulating onto to the Postgraduate Diploma.
PD-CU Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound (100 points)
At completion, you can choose to exit at this stage or complete a further 4 subjects to obtain the Master of Clinical Ultrasound.
