Clinical Research Project


Description

Research areas relating to clinical research will be chosen after consultation between the student, the coordinator and their sponsoring organisation.

Objectives

At the end of this subject, clinicians should be able to undertake a small clinical research project with limited collaborative input and be able to report their findings


Pre-requisites and/or Co-requisites

Completion of subjects to Graduate Diploma level

 

Mode of Delivery

Students should expect to undertake a minimum of 240 hours research, reading, writing etc… to complete the research project successfully (part-time over 6 months, full-time over 3 months)

 

Contact Time

Approximately 20 hours of individual supervision sessions, as negotiated with the appointed supervisor over the duration of the research project


Assessment

One presentation of 20% and an 8,000 word report of 80%.  An external examiner selected by the Course Coordinator will mark the minor thesis.
